પ્રિય વાચક,

ગુજરાતી પુસ્તકોનાં સૌથી વિશાળ અને સુવ્યવસ્થિત ઓનલાઈન બુક-સ્ટોરમાં આપનું સ્વાગત છે! બુકપ્રથાની શરૂઆત 2015માં થઇ હતી. સ્વ. ઝવેરચંદ મેઘાણીના પુત્ર જયંત મેઘાણીએ 1972માં ભાવનગરમાં સ્થાપેલી બુક-શોપ 'પ્રસાર'નું નામ ગુજરાતના પુસ્તકરસિયાઓ માટે અજાણ્યું નથી. સ્થાનિક વાચકો ઉપરાંત, દેશ વિદેશના પ્રતિષ્ઠિત ગ્રંથાલયો, સંસ્થાઓને પુસ્તકો પૂરાં પાડવાની કામગીરી પ્રસારે બજાવેલી છે. બુકપ્રથા થકી આ યાત્રા આગળ ધપી રહી છે.   

જહેમતપૂર્વક તૈયાર કરવામાં આવેલી આ વેબસાઈટ બનાવતી વખતે વાચકોની નાનામાં નાની જરૂરિયાતોનો ખ્યાલ રાખવામાં આવ્યો છે.

• વાચક અહીં પુસ્તકોને અનેક જુદી જુદી રીતે વર્ગીકૃત (filter) કરી શકે છે. તમામ પુસ્તકોને તેના મુખ્ય વિષયો તેમ જ પેટા વિષયોમાં વહેંચવામાં આવ્યાં છે, જેથી વાચક બહુ સરળતાથી, હજારો પુસ્તકોમાંથી પોતાના રસનાં પુસ્તકો શોધી શકે. પુસ્તકોને તેના લેખકો, અનુવાદકો, કિંમત, પ્રકાશનની સાલ, બાઈન્ડીંગ મુજબ વર્ગીકૃત કરી શકાય છે. પુસ્તકોને આલ્ફાબેટીક ક્રમમાં જોઈ શકાય છે, તેમ જ છેલ્લાં પ્રકાશિત થયેલાં નવાં પુસ્તકો તે ક્રમમાં જોઈ શકાય છે. અનુવાદકોની સૂચિ પરથી જે તે વિષયોમાં અનુવાદ થયેલાં પુસ્તકો શોધી શકાય છે. જે પુસ્તકોનું પુનઃમુદ્રણ (reprint) થયું હોય એ પુસ્તકોની પ્રથમ આવૃતિની સાલ અને સંપાદિત થયેલાં પુસ્તકોનાં સંપાદકોનાં નામ શક્ય બન્યું ત્યાં દર્શાવ્યાં છે. પુસ્તકનો ટૂંકો પરિચય પણ શક્ય બન્યું ત્યાં આપ્યો છે. પુસ્તકો, લેખકો, અનુવાદકો, અને વિષયોનાં નામ ગુજરાતી લિપિમાં પણ આપ્યાં છે.

• તમામ લેખકો (All Authors)ની સંપૂર્ણ સૂચિ આલ્ફાબેટીક ક્રમમાં આપેલી છે, જેમાં કોઈ પણ લેખકનાં નામ પર ક્લિક કરવાથી લેખકનો પોતાનો અલાયદો વિભાગ ખુલી જશે અને તેમનાં પુસ્તકો વિષય અનુસાર જોઈ શકાશે, અને ઉપર વર્ણવેલી તમામ રીતે વર્ગીકૃત (fliter) પણ કરી શકાશે. આવી જ સગવડ તમામ અનુવાદકો (All Translators) માટે પણ છે.

• વેબસાઈટ પર થતાં પુસ્તકોનાં વેચાણને આધારે  '50 Best Selling Authors' ~ જે તે સમયે સૌથી વધુ વંચાતા ટોચના ૫૦ લેખકોની યાદી ક્રમાનુસાર આપવામાં આવી છે.

• વધુ સુગમતા માટે હોમ-પેજ પર ચાર વિભાગો આપવામાં આવ્યાં છે : નવાં પુસ્તકો (New Releases), ડિસ્કાઉન્ટ સાથેનાં પુસ્તકો (Special Offers), સૌથી વધુ વેચાતા ટોચનાં 100  બેસ્ટ-સેલર પુસ્તકો (Top 100 Gujarati Best Sellers),  અને તમામ અનુવાદિત પુસ્તકો (All Gujarati Translations).   

• ભારતભરમાં અને વિદેશોમાં પુસ્તકો મોકલવાની સગવડ પણ છે.                  

આવી વિવિધ વિશેષતાઓ ધરાવતી આ વેબસાઈટમાં નવાં પુસ્તકો નિયમિત રીતે ઉમેરાતાં રહે છે.

Here, customer can filter books and browse books in many ways. All books are organised under various categories and sub categories. One can filter the books according to authors, translators, price, year of publication and binding. Books can be filtered in alphabetic order, and one can filter translated books too. The year of the first edition of reprints and Editor's names in case of edited books, are provided, where possible.

For convenience, there are  four separate sections on the home page : New Releases, Special Offers, 100 Best Sellers & All Gujarati Translations.

Niraj Meghani, the founder of this website, has been in Book-trade since 1995. He has worked in his family-run Bookstore 'PRASAR', established in 1972, at Bhavnagar by his father Jayant Meghani.
